Seminar – People Project Proposal
My people project for this is going to be based around how we can change people’s behaviour for the better by making it fun to do so. This is called the fun theory. My idea is to design a rubbish bin for recycable objects/materials which will give a reward in the form of music when a recycable object is deposited.
I aim to place these muscial trash cans in public environments such as universities, pubs, clubs or schools. It could be educational for schools by teaching children the benefits of recycling in a short audio clip when an object is deposited in the bin.I will communicate my idea by recording a video/advertisment of the musical bin in action at university and will also be designing a working prototype to show and present.
My reason for doing this is that making a prototype and recording people using it will give a visualisation of how the idea were to work. Making a video advertisement would explain the benefits of using my idea and grasping the audience to help them be greener. I will present my project in the form of a powerpoint presentation where i will include an introduction, an explanation of the idea and the problem I’m dealing with, a process or what I did and a solution which will be in the form of a video and prototype.
